Jai Uttal is known as a pioneer in the world music community. His new album, Roots, Rock, Rama!, named after Bob Marley’s classic track “Roots Rock Reggae,”  has been described as his life’s spiritual and musical quest packed into two CDs of 78 minutes of music.
Part of the proceeds from the album will be donated to OneTreePlanted which is an organization that plants trees in order to combat world deforestation.

Jai’s first album, Footprints, (featuring Don Cherry and others) was released in 1990. Since then, he has released eighteen albums, and received a Grammy award nomination. But Jai is more than a music artist. He also leads his own yoga workshops and retreats, and has an inspirational story of overcoming adversity that is not as widely known as his music.
Here’s our interview with Jai…
