  1. mike spurgeon…

i am watching “in the groove” and you.re in it… i.m hoping you.ve seen the documentary because
i have a question… in the beginning of the movie they show ( 2 or 3 times at least ) a record spinning with the label
being a piece of zoetrope art… my question to you as a DJ and someone who.s seen a SHIT LOAD of records…

is this record label / zoetrope art piece ( see attached ) an actual record label standard from the record pressing plant
and on the record as directed by the artist and record label ? if so… who.s the artist ? what.s the name of the album ?

OR… is it a piece of zoetrope art and a round sticker with a hole in the middle that can be purchased at record stores…
on etsy or ebay… yadda yadda yadda… ???

this isn.t a riddle… i genuinely don.t know and as a lover of vinyl and an old skool cat… i.m reaching out via e-mail
( pretty old skool… i think the last person to send an e-mail was one of the geico cavemen ) to ask you… i tried
dave.s records in lincoln park, chi-town ( great neighborhood BTW – kingston mines ! ) but alas dave closed his doors
    in 2o22 or 2o23…

please RSVP with a possible answer to this riddle… here.s a bit of trivia for you… even though the pink floyd
darkside of the moon recorded and set to the wizard of oz movie ( sans audio ) is absolutely false… as someone
who.s tried it ( drop the needle on 2nd or 3rd MGM lion roar – doesn.t really matter which )… there is a trippy
effect that happens because the whirling sound effect on the album just coincidentally happens to coincide with
the tornado scene… if you weren.t already aware of that… that.s it in a nutshell…
